In August 2016 we hired Ottos' Hardwood Floors (owner Jose Gramajo) to refinish our hardwood floors throughout our first-floor hallways, kitchen, breakfast nook and dining room. However, the project was expanded when we decided to remove a half wall which divided our kitchen from the family room as well as take our original staircase to the second floor from wall-to-wall carpeting to hardwood stairs as well as hardwood floors on the second-floor landing. The expansion of work required Jose to tear out our entire staircase, build a new staircase, and provide a new hardwood transition step from our kitchen to the family room.

I can't say enough about Jose and his crew's excellent work. Contractor's can be a challenge to work with, but Jose's knowledge and professionalism put me quickly at ease. Refinishing floors is a very messy job no matter who does it. But I must say Jose's crew did more to lessen the mess than other refinishers (we've had our floors refinished twice before) we have used in the past. His crew was reliable, punctual, and courteous. When ever I needed to talk with Jose, he would call/text me back very fast. Every night before they left they cleaned up and vacuumed as much as they could to keep our house livable. They did an incredible job on the final clean up. I would like comment on Jose's expertise and effort to find our exactly how our job should be done. Our original floors were not stained. We preferred to have a lighter, more natural look to our floors. However, over the years we were not happy of how our floors had yellowed. When I explained this to Jose, I witnessed him making a lot of calls to ensure that he could do a job that would make us happy. Apparently putting on a Swedish sealer is not the way to go when you do not have a stain on the floor. He made sure he used the right product for finishing and tested the sealer on several areas. Our previous finishers did not do this. Also, we are very happy with the new set of stairs Jose and his crew built for us. We checked with friends we new that had the same work done, but the cost was prohibitive. Jose's prices was affordable with great value. I would recommend Otto's Hardwood Floors to anyone. Also, I did notice a couple of things I wanted him to fix, and there was no problem in getting him to come out and do the work.

I was so pleased with Otto's Hardwood Floors workmanship and attention to the things that were important to me and my family. Jose' was friendly and understanding of what I was looking for as far as color and durability. There was a little blob in the kitchen when the job was completed that he came and fixed personally-flawless. I have already referred his company to friends and neighbors, I wouldn't do this if I didn't trust the value and craftsmanship of the work being done.

Jose and his crew work fast and we appreciated that as we have small kids needing to navigate through the house! They did a great job on our floors and staircase. There were a few things that weren't communicated through the process, like our stairs not being able to be walked on after a sealer was applied (it was bed time for the kiddos, their rooms upstairs) but we all made it work. We'd recommend them to anyone and would use them again.

Hardwood sanding and refinishing
Jose and his crew were extremely professional and hard working. The floors turned out beautiful, way beyond my expectations and for a very reasonable price. I felt very comfortable leaving them in my house unattended and they took very good care of my home when I was away. They cleaned up their mess and kept me informed at all times. I cannot recommend them enough to anyone looking for work done on their floors. I would not hesitate to hire them again.

Highest ratings! Jose was the only company that actually brought different bamboo flooring samples to the estimate meeting and helped me to get the best price. You never know what is under a really bad carpet; Jose and his team navigated the surprises well and did their best to mitigate any additional costs due unforeseen issues. He also accommodated the very tight schedule to get me into my new home on time! They left the place cleaner than when they arrived and changed a moulding that was off color with no fuss. Good price and willing to work with customer. The quality is above average. The floor was not shiny ( may be because he used the different kind of stain ?). Some gaps was not filled all the way but he came back to fix it.
